As New Zealand’s trusted national online safety experts, Netsafe’s work benefits hundreds of thousands of people each year. As a charity for public good, our work has many streams, including:
To deliver such a huge scope of work for so many different stakeholder groups, requires collaboration and funding support. We’re fortunate enough to partner with some amazing organisations, but there is so much more to do in the online safety space, and a lot of our work is still unfunded.
There’s always more work to be done in the online safety space. If your organisation supports the important mahi Netsafe undertakes on behalf of all people living in New Zealand, then show your support by backing us through an annual sponsorship.
Sponsor contributions underpin everything we do, from the support centre and helpline, national awareness campaigns, outreach activities for specific audiences and resources to benefit the wider community.
Our data and innovation arm, Netsafe Lab(/our-work/netsafe-lab) is working on building and procuring practical tools to aid in the fight against online harm. Think scam filtering apps, fake website detectors, and other genius inventions such as Re:Scam, which hooks scammers and wastes their time.
There’s much more in the pipeline, so if you want to kickstart an online safety revolution by funding some cool tools, get in touch.
The new Hector’s World animated series(https://hectorsworld.com/) launched in May 2024 and is now available for primary-aged children across New Zealand. But the work doesn’t stop there. We are working to roll this out to every school and every living room in New Zealand, and also create a huge suite of resources for use by teachers and parents.
This is a huge undertaking and a very necessary one, but we can’t do it alone.
Netsafe’s Youth Action Squad (YAS) equips young people with the knowledge and skills to spark discussion, plan initiatives, lead activities and enact positive change around the online safety issues that affect them in their own communities. Youth ambassadors lead this programme, which enables peer-to-peer engagement at a grassroots level.
To keep this impactful initiative running year to year and enable participation from across New Zealand, Netsafe invites the support of sponsors and funders who support youth, diversity and inclusiveness.
Some things are best-done face-to-face, and for certain communities it really helps to have a real person explaining the ins and outs of navigating the online world safely.
Netsafe receives hundreds of emails each month with requests to educate and present to community groups. While we’d love to support them all, we simply can’t without help from funders and sponsors.
Sponsor Netsafe community education work and help us reach more people with important online safety messages.
Netsafe will host the 2026 trans-Tasman online safety conference. This annual event usually attracts around 150-200 delegates, including representatives from online content creators, education, government, law enforcement and the tech industry.
This is a key opportunity for business sponsors to get in front of key decision-makers and influencers in the online safety, cyber security and education space.

Netsafe regularly works with academic institutions and independent researchers to deepen our understanding of online harm and cyber security issues in New Zealand and the Pacific.
If you have a research project that would benefit from Netsafe endorsement or collaboration, please get in touch.
If you’d like to explore a partnership with Netsafe, we have a number of programmes and initiatives suitable for sponsorship, pro-bono support, grant funding, donations or collaboration. Or reach out to discuss building a bespoke initiative, we’re always open to new ideas.
