Hōhepa Canterbury(https://www.hohepacanterbury.com/) is a vibrant community of people with intellectual disabilities who develop and deliver quality, innovative services that encourage people to live fully engaged lives.
Hōhepa Canterbury’s Digi Citizens Framework (and associated tools) are designed to educate and empower digital users, specifically disabled people, their whānau, support teams and educators.
Through using the Framework and tools, people can evaluate their existing knowledge and identify learning opportunities and areas where they may need additional support. We are anticipating that people using the Digi Citizens Framework will tailor the way it’s applied to suit the individual.
Hōhepa Canterbury are collaborating with both Netsafe and People First around promoting the Digi Citizens Framework and accompanying tools as they are released.
The framework, along with the full suite of tools, can be found by following the links below.
Hōhepa and Netsafe recognise that this is just the beginning of a journey to empower all people with intellectual disabilities to be successful digital users.
